2025 Willow Grove Savagnin 750ml
The Fifth release of this wine.
From the Willow Grove vineyard. A north facing hill of red volcanic and grey dermasol soil.
Planted in 2001, own rooted, unirrigated vines.
Wild fermented in barrel.
From the warm, dry 2025. The wine is light golden in the glass, the nose opens with lemon curd and honeysuckle, moving into softer notes of marmalade and toasted coconut. A savoury sourdough character sits underneath, adding depth and complexity. Full-bodied and creamy on the palate, the wine's richness is held in check by powerful, driving acidity, giving it real length and lift through the finish. An opulent, textural expression of Savagnin from a generous season.
Please note that due to equipment failure in the winery, half this wine was lost.
So this is a smaller than usual bottling unfortunately.
