2025 Willow Grove Vineyard Pinot Noir 750ml
From the Willow Grove vineyard, on a north facing slope of red volcanic soil. Planted in 2001 to MV6 & 114 clone Pinot Noir. Planted on own roots and never irrigated. Fermented on skins for three weeks and aged in a mix of barrique and puncheon.
2025 was warm and dry and the resulting wine is Dark and perfumed, with blackberry, ripe cherry and a rush of sweet red fruit, raspberry, redcurrant and glacé cherry. The fruit has some lovely confectionery lift, but beneath it lies the distinct ironstone mineral core from that volcanic soil.
Generous and supple on the palate, with ripe fruit, fine tannins and a persistent earthy, mineral savouriness.
